Girardi pulling Sabathia at 99 pitches is interesting.
Aside from the fact that the 100 pitch level is some bullshyt benchmark, I can understand wanting to protect Sabathia's arm, particularly at this stage of his career and in a game that is largely in hand.
However, you're going into a Game 4 with a very hittable Sonny Gray. Not that Gray hasn't been successful but the Astros will put the ball in play tomorrow.
You just hope that the bullpen is well rested and the Yankees infielders are on their toes as Gray does induce a lot of grounders.
But it won't shock me if the bullpen has to put in 4 or 5 innings of work.
