He's averaging 7.3 this season, 7.5 for his career. He's not great at it but his numbers take a hit from playing with Humphries and Reggie Evans who are out there to rebound the ball. Reggie fights his own teammates for rebounds.

He has looked much better this season getting tough rebounds. He has his moments where he gets out-muscled by smaller guys but its happening less than previous seasons.

Brook has always been a subpar rebounder bruh. Two seasons ago he averaged 6 boards a game and Evans wasn't there. If he can even get back to his first and second year rebounding averages he'd be ok.

Being a raptor fan i have heard that BS excuse for years why a 7 foot center cant rebound because of his teammates and its just a lame excuse to me.

Your the biggest guy on the team, you play the most mins, your under the basket on D all game long,i aint trying to hear how Reggie Evans and Hump are "stealing" your rebounds....

If your 7 foot 270 and you play 35-40 mins you should be averaging minimum 7.5-8 boards a game or you need to sit on the end of the bench....

dwight howard is shorter then a few centers that he is better than and he out rebounds them :manny: also brook rarely plays 35-40 minutes

Hump was there 2 seasons ago tho. All im saying is he has looked better rebounding the ball this season. Its still not where you want a center to be, but this season has been way better than the past 2.

Okay, so he averages 30 minutes per game and gets 7.3 boards. If he played those 5-10 minutes he would be over 8 boards a game. But yea we should totally sit his 19 points per game because of .2 rebounds.

His PPG doesnt factor into this...His scoring is fine but his rebounding has been subpar, you want to be a perennial all star 5 do BOTH...

But you just said 35-40 minutes should be at least 7.5 rebounds. He only plays 30 minutes a night and gets 7.3. So if you gave him the extra minutes he makes your minimum number.

I think Lopez with his size should be averaging 20/10 :manny:

I know his rebounding numbers were alot lower earlier in the season...I still would like that number to be closer to 10....

Lopez rebounding totals may be frustratingly low at times, but it is very rare that he is missing rebounds, getting out-rebounded or is in poor rebounding position.

There are plenty instances where there would be no opposing players around the glass after the shot, and Lopez just lets one of his teammates gobble up the rebound.

Sure Brook could go for the cheap rebounds, but letting Hump or Evans get those really doesn't change anything as far as the game is concerned. And the difference between Brook being a 6-7 rpg guy and a 8-9 rpg guy are basically the cheap ones that Humphries & Evans vulture up. Its not a coincidence Lopez rebounding numbers took a dive once Hump became a full time starter 2 years ago.

I care more about the impact he as on the game. Say what you want about his rebounding, but he is the Nets top scorer, and has even improved defensively. It's no coincidence that the Nets have went on a losing streak with Lopez out. He is a vital part of this team.

And FYI, Marc Gasol, who is considered one of the leagues top centers, is averaging 7.8 boards per game as opposed to Brook's 7.3. But nobody says anything about that. Just saying :yeshrug:

I'm not worried about a number tho. I watch every game, and his rebounding this season has been much improved over the past few years. It may not show in the RPG, but you see it when you watch.

He doesn't lose many battles to other bigs for a rebound anymore, he is much better at knowing where to be for the board and boxing out his man. If he can continue improving his numbers should keep going up.

This, dudes are not watching the games, Rebounding is 3rd on Brooks list because we got rebounders on deck but few bigs can score like he can and do it with only 35 mins a game.
