Poor man's Tim Duncan with less athleticism (in TD's prime) and boardability. I like his post game, one of the best in the league.

Lopez is arguably the best offensive Center in the league, plays the post well, has a decent jumper, and is a good free throw shooter. Dude was overdue for an all-star selection (which is a popularity contest voted on by casual fans, imo). Secondly, his role on the team is not as a rebounder, we got Hump who is a double digit rebounder and Reggie Evans, Brook is really our only scoring big, and on top of that he's avg two blocks a game, he's way more important than his stats suggest to the Nets, we can win games without Deron, we won't win shyt without Brook.

He needed injuries to get picked...Provision i will make for next year he has to be an all star selection NOT an injury reserve...

:umad:

Didn't know the NBA had a separate distinction for "Injury Reserves". Pretty sure it goes down as an All-Star selection.

He wasn't a reserve, he was selected by the NBA when the injury happened. They could have picked any other player in the East but they chose Brook.

Either way. he's still an all-star. It doesn't matter if he never makes it again he can always say he was an NBA all-star. :youngsabo: and you said he would never be one. Injuries or not. They could of picked Roy Hibbert. :win: or they could of picked another Forward or guard even right?

We all know he took Bynums spot.

The only thing holding Brook back to me is his lack of rebounding skills. He's always been a weak rebounder but you would think a 7'0 foot 275 pound center could get at least 8 boards a night.

Exactly him and Hibbert dissapoint me with there softness on the board. I give Lopez a pass because he has cat's like Hump, Evans, and Wallace who hit the boards hard maybe that could be a reason he doesn't get 1-2 more.

I cant get with big men that dont rebound the ball....How can you be 7 foot and average 4.3 rebounds a game, very emasculating...

He's averaging 7.3 this season, 7.5 for his career. He's not great at it but his numbers take a hit from playing with Humphries and Reggie Evans who are out there to rebound the ball. Reggie fights his own teammates for rebounds.

He has looked much better this season getting tough rebounds. He has his moments where he gets out-muscled by smaller guys but its happening less than previous seasons.

Being a raptor fan i have heard that BS excuse for years why a 7 foot center cant rebound because of his teammates and its just a lame excuse to me.

Your the biggest guy on the team, you play the most mins, your under the basket on D all game long,i aint trying to hear how Reggie Evans and Hump are "stealing" your rebounds....

If your 7 foot 270 and you play 35-40 mins you should be averaging minimum 7.5-8 boards a game or you need to sit on the end of the bench....
