The gentrification is definitely not as bad as some of y'all make it out to be. There are also definitely a lot of majority black middle class neighborhoods in Brooklyn, Queens and Harlem. No they don't have 3 acres a goat and and a Chevy parked in front of the trap like our southern breds but there are a lot of us that are making money, getting by and not chased out of our hoods.

On a separate note, it is sad to see what Harlem has turned into though. Everytime im on 25th or in the area, this song pops into my head. Brings back memories of the old days in NYC.

I was bugging out seeing that man. The Howard U area looked about 30-40% white. And there's more to come. The 4-6 new luxury condos buildings they just built arent for nikkas. More to come. Howard gonna be a black school in a white neighborhood. It was inevitable. The Howard/Shaw area is a 25 minute walk from downtown. Two subway stops from downtown Washington D.C. Less than 20 minutes commute time. No wonder they rushing over there.

So the Howard university students don't stay local after graduation?

Thank you for shedding light without falling into typical NYC insular "nikka YOU AIN'T FROM HERE" politics. :salute:

There are plenty of black people still left here in NYC that own their own property. You will see it particularly with those of African and Carribean descent. Granted, we may not make up numbers of those considered "black" in the gentrified areas that once were occupied by our African American brethren but we are still here.

Songs like this made me want to move to New York growing up. But that "New York" is long gone :mjcry:

My Pops Forever RIP
:russ: the developers will make it happen brehs. No matter what. They already calling it SoBro and Piano District.

shyt was never gonna happen to Brooklyn, well look what happened there 15-20 years later.

shyt was never gonna happen to Harlem. And shyts slowly creeping up to the Heights too. :snoop:
It's NEVER gonna happen. When I say never I mean, you will see Kennedy's and Crown's Fried all go out of business before you see some shyt like that. The BX isn't equipped for that kind of gentrification. You'd have to kill off the population but you can't do that without scaring the shyt outta anyone who wants to move there.

St Louis Rams!!!!!
My moms family payings mortgage the same as her house in texas.

Keep in the mind these apartments have been here since 1990s and used to be full of bugs, has no working AC and a small as kitchen.

Had to sleep with the windows open with how hot it gets up there in the summer :sadcam:
