They're a superteam because of Harden... KD/Kyrie is a second round/ECF exit waiting to happen. Harden is the engine.

I was telling my brother yesterday,

in the Finals I let Durant light me up, im in no way letting James getting everyone else involved.

Impressive win by LA. Most of the guys playing tonight not only weren't there last year, some aint been there all of this year: McLemore, Drummond, Trez, Schroder, McKinnie...

This is a statement win if for nothing else it shows the Lakers are actually quite deep and these guys should have more consistency in their defined roles when their main guys get back...

For Brooklyn, disappointing effort against a team missing 3 of its Top 4 players and playing half a roster that ain't even been with them the whole year. We all thought BK would whup em. Now, its a regular season game with 19 games left, it isnt the end of the world but what it should do for the Nets is signal the urgency in getting the chemistry gelled together, playoffs not far away...

Not many teams can play suffocating team defense like LA, and not many teams have the size to beat Brooklyn, and not many teams are gonna be able to outshoot Brooklyn, but if you can, in a 7-game series, have the personnel to balance these factors competitively with them, they can be beaten...

I've said for awhile Philly, Milwaukee, Miami all have a shot. Not that i think they will, I agree with the consensus the Nets should be the East favorite, I just dont see this scenario where they roll everyone in the East playoffs. A couple of the opposing coaches/coaching staffs are more proven tacticians in money time that the Nets sideline, and while top end firepower Nets have on everyone, some of the East challengers can create matchup problems to tilt a series...

They could still obviously win it all but they are not about to 4/5-game their way thru the conference. I'd be stunned if they did, I'm not one if these guys who thinks this squad is unbeatable or the greatest team ever...

Lakers are the defending champions and should command respect from whoever they play in any round. They are missing 3 of their 4 best players and have some decent depth, anyone assuming they are gonna get rolled by any team, REGARDLESS of seeding or who has home court, is on a fool's errand...

I do not have the presumption they WILL win it all, like Brooklyn I think they can, but the talk in recent months has treated the Nets as if they're the defending champs and the Lakers as if they some throwaway squad...

Both will get tested in the conference playoffs and it wouldn't be a total shocker if both are eliminated, either for lack of chemistry or too many injuries or whatever else, and certainly wouldn't surprise me if one of them fails to make the playoffs. 19 games left for both, gonna be a fun postseason...

Naw seriously, everyone was cryin bout that buyout shyt but THIS is something that should be addressed. NHL get to fight AND step off to cool down but two Black men in a majority Black sport and you gotta send em off for fiery banter because Black men being anything but docile is some scary shyt.

That’s some bytch ass shyt through and through
It’s just like the real world, the refs POLICE the game, not referee it. Glad you peeped it.

:deadmanny: at Van Gundy saying if the Lakers drop to a 7-8 seed while AD/Bron are out that a 1-2 seed would want to play them in the first round when they return..

Lakers are playing a lot better in the absence of both than anyone thought. Assuming Bron and AD can come back normal, Lakers gonna be a major problem for anyone they play...

They can be beaten but I also think they may not drop outta the 5th seed. Portland can't consistently play well enough to lap em which is telling of that team's ceiling, and even if Portland sneaks into 5th by the time both return, Lakers likely aren't dropping past 6th and could even steal the 5-seed back upon the return of their guys...

Playoff ratings should be thru the roof, we're looking at a Rd1 series likely of Lakers vs Nuggets or Lakers vs Clippers, thats a hell of a first round...
