Because you’re assuming that them talking a little shyt was going to bring the game to a halt which it wasn’t they were drifting further away from each other. To me, they should’ve been allowed more time to go to their respective sides which they were basically in the process of doing. All I know is I would’ve missed out on many classic Kobe duels if refs always behaved like this.

I’ll say this, rather than simply kick guys out there should at least be a rule where players involved in these kinda verbal altercations have to sit for 5 mins. At least then if you pressed to regulate on court shyt talking you won’t do so at the expense of fans wanting to see the best players play. That’s hustlin backwards. You’d have a point if they was bout to fight but it was just some shyt talk.

Im not assuming shyt. They were both asked to calm down and neither one of them did. Neither one of them made an effort to stop the back and forth. The ref was right to eject them

And please breh, spare me the revisionist shyt about how refs did things back in the day. It’s 2021 and it’s called differently. Who cares how it was called 15-20 years ago, adapt to what it is now.

I still don’t agree with you on the over legislation of the NBA but in this particular incident I can, like I already did in the other thread, admit that I was wrong in this situation. I fully understand that you have to play with the rules that were given but it doesn’t mean the rules can’t be bullshyt or can’t be improved upon.

Respect but we can agree to disagree.

Ima rules kinda guy by nature so I understand why the refs did what they did. They gave the guys the first tech and they didn’t respond accordingly so they had to get them up outta there.

The players know the rules and they know the refs too. They know how that kind of behavior will be handled by the refs. That’s why it trips me out when y’all make excuses for the players on calls when the players know the rules as well as some of the refs. Y’all think it was an overreaction but if the refs have already warned the players then it’s on the players to fall back

I get what you’re saying. They of all people should know the rules and the officials better than most because they work with them.

My only gripe is that such rigid rules sorta ignores the fact that these are human beings. Young, wealthy, ultra competitive human beings. So sometimes this kinda thing will happen. I’d say a simple adjustment like a “penalty box” kinda thing where both sides can separate themselves and cool down for a set period of time is a decent fix.

At the end of the day we watching these games for the players not the refs and it sucked to see two players having a great game against each other be thrown out. All I’m sayin is this is something that can be improved upon.

fukk all of that.....this nonsense where the actions of referees are unquestioned needs to be removed from the game

In fact a referee should be subject to a review by their peers, the league office AND THE PLAYERS.....

Referees should be subject to fines(no bullshyt either, full game checks) and bad in season referees should not be allowed to officiate the playoffs....EVER
