Jay was so nice back then you know he would have had something very slick up his sleeve for Pun (and Joe by extension) and at the same time Pun was rapping at a level thats never been matched so it would have been very interesting to hear Pun fully engage in a battle with Jay.
And Pun got at Big back in 95Yep, Joe was hating because he felt Jay became a star rapping the life he was living (Joe sounds salty as fukk if that's really true).

I was disappointed with Pun’s little diss to 50, I was really hoping he would open his chest. Pun was fukking incredible, just rapping, and subs, but I’m not sure Pun would have gotten Jay direct. Remember, at this time, as nice as Pun was, Jay was god flow and wordplay was unfukkwithable
And who knows how deep it really was, Pun said a few times that Jay deserved 5 mics for Vol 2, and he was a huge fan. It was prolly just some competition shyt, and as a rapper you can’t ever concede someone being better than you and be a fanboy. I think Pun knew he wasn’t as overall nice as Jay, so he latched onto the street shyt, because nobody was really fukking with Joe at that time on the street/rapper shyt.
50 Cent was a nobody at the time and just said one line so Pun just let it be known like yo, that was cute for a Rap but I will kill you in real life.
