I was just thinking about rappers who have impressed me with their flows and this song was one of the first to pop into my head. Just wow, one of the greatest songs ever created. I wish I could erase this song from my memory, grab a time machine and listen to it when it first dropped. :ohlawd: +:whew:

I was disappointed that GZA wrote a lot if not all his Sh!T but he definitely added something special though.

i was at elektra in '94 with my homie latief (produced the mad wunz & late model sedan for masta ace) and i actually got to sit down with dante ross (stop dissin dante on records yall!) and some other dude during the mix down. on gang i thought it was the most incredible record i ever heard. i tried to play it cool being that these are industry nikkas and i don't want to look like a square hype beast but it was retarded as fukk so i started covering my face while i bopped my head

nikkas looked at me after a while and started dying laughing. latief wasn't the biggest rza fan (or beatminerz SMH) so he thought it was whatever and this nikka dante had nothing but criticisms for it about the drums. i'm looking at these two dudes along with the asian engineer like WTF?!? but hey man, that's why they were who they were, they heard music differently than i did and dissected it in the pursuit of perfection. to his credit dante predicted that it was a smash

by the end of the session i knew most of his verse by heart. so i went back to the hood and started spittin odb's verse in fragments with some mistakes here and there. dudes went crazy lol. btw i'm absolutely nobody so don't think for a minute that i'm some industry insider or something (i know how nikkas do on the internet with the ducktales lmao). i'm just some unknown square/nerdy east flatbush nikka who used to live 10 blocks from lord digga & godfather don, 15 from fu schnickens and 20 from da bush babees and about 35 from the cella dwellas so i knew rappers on some hood shyt. rhymed myself but was mad corny lol, but nikkas fukked with me off the strength of my passion for this rap shyt. anyway that's my brooklyn zoo story man, wish i got to meet ason but it wasn't in the cards may he rest on peace

I think Biggie is the most impressive rapper of all time. Him and Cube were so gifted. They flow so well:mjpls:

Biggie is (As Gettleman says) was touched by God, lol. I also love bad boy production. They knew how to set a mood/pick the right beats. I’m also into sampling so...

I’m not the biggest Cube fan but when he was on, he was on. His words and delivery were so smooth. Never really liked bow down Cube or East coast Cube, lol. My favorite Cube is jerry curl Cube, lol. East Coast Cube was cool but his beats were repetitive.

There are a lot of dumb rappers but there are a lot who have great control/delivery. I think that’s one of the underrated things about Philly Rappers. A lot of them seem to have great delivery. I’ve always assumed the Koran had something to do with it .

My top 5 most impressive would be (don’t judge).

Biggie-best beats, best flow, clear control

Cube- same for biggie.

Camron- funny, creative, great production and somewhat relatable (I’m from Harlem)

Project pat-Funny, great control, unorthodox style and creative

Beanie Siegel- great flow, great delivery, great production few weaknesses.

Chuck D also had great control/ presence.

great story man...the light skin dude from the fu schnickens lived around my way...dated this bad ass redbone @ the time who lived across the street from our block...after the success it was crazy to see him working in pathmark...that let me know early on that fame did not necessarily equate to fortune...he seemed like a cool brother tho...real humble

as for the song/vid...the energy to this day is still crazy enough to get me amped enough to wanna break shyt when I hear it

biggie had such a commanding voice that basically forced you to listen to his shyt...that freestyle he did on his block when he was around 17 is still incredible to listen to
