it def did but D.r period had a huge part in it too, headless horsemen were next on def jam but since the flatlinerz got mad negative press and didnt go gold they never dropped, dr period also had another horror core group called the punishaz they went away also. def jam wasnted horror core to succed the controversy stopped it. flatlinerz had a deal with marvel comics no lie

none of that changes the fact that they were trying to cash in on underground acts that were making local names for themselves, like NATAS and BHL

flatlinerz had a machine behind them, doesnt mean they had originality (or very much talent tbh)

im not denying that but the horror core movement would have no been known in the mainstream by that name in 94 without the flatlinerz

and it was shytted on for their efforts. flatlinerz were a flop and were more popular before people knew their music than after their record dropped

24 Deep came out in 92/93 and even then, everyone knows Flatlinerz were only put on because one of them was Russell Simmons nephew. not to mention Ganksta Nip & Geto Boys.

horror core been out way b4 the flatlinerz but was always a local thing like esham in detroit, lynch and x raided in Sacramento, but flatlinerz and gravediggaz made the term mainstream.
