This has been on my mind for a while...I think I let us down.



We had a team lunch at work a while back and they was servin BBQ

they asked me what meat I wanted....and I stopped eating red meat, so I said chicken...

and then I walked up to the fruit platter and without thinking I grabbed me some watermelon

I had to walk passed the white execs to the fruit platter table with a plate full of chickin..one of the CACS looked at me like and said "enjoy" wit a little head nod

I thought that was kind of strange...but I didnt think anything of it...so I calmly said "I sure will" and walked away...as i was sitting there eating, I noticed I was the only black person eating watermelon...then I started thinking about the exect who gave me that funny look

mayne the only thing left for me to do at this point was to get up and start ing

Did I do the wrong thing? or is it 2012 so its a who gives a fukc kind of moment?

This happened to me once at school, but then I realized I was a black male, which made me superior to whites by default. I then proceeded to eat my watermelon and lick the juices clean off the plate right in front of them cacs. Didn't even wipe my mouth afterwards. Walked around with a watermelon juice mustache the whole day.
