Vince is still good enough to play in this league. Maybe not as a starter but he can be a damn good backup. Better than the majority of backup QB's in the league.

At worst Young is a run first QB who doesn't the accuracy to function as a legitimate starter. He can win some games for a team though. He fits the back up role in Cleveland perfectly (why he wasn't looked into as a backup until now is anyone's guess), but Young has a tendency to look down the field regardless of coverage. That implies Vince doesn't either doesn't read the field well or lacks confidence in his accuracy.
Shanahan made RG3 into one of the best QBs in the league in 2012, maybe he can do the same with VY. The question is where VY is along his passing progression and how high his ceiling is. If VY can reach Russell Wilson-esque effectiveness in the passing and running game, he can win a SB. VY has the tools.
