The first time I saw someone with dementia in real life was a few years. It was very sad to watch. I was at bday party and the grandma had dementia, she'll walk around saying hi to everybody every 5 minutes acting genuinely surprised to see them every time. Then she'll just stand there with a blank stare just start running around with a panic attack. It was heartbreaking to watch.

My Grandma had that shyt and the stages are truly frightening to behold. During the 'loop' conversation phase it may seem somewhat funny or lighthearted 'cause you know their mind is slipping and you humour it, but actively watching them gain and lose recognition at random is heartbreaking as fukk, man. Especially when they fall into the "Don't you remember, I'm....." conversations their loved ones have with 'em only to find that the results ain't always favorable.

That shyt pales to the 'quest' stage in which they go off lookin' for folk that's been dead and gone for decades. :francis: Watched my Grandmother tip toe to a door and quietly close it like a Looney Toon's character in an escape attempt after we had to get a caretaker to watch her during the day was one of the most heartbreaking things of my life, breh. I had to let her get all the way to the other gate before I just magically walked through (I went outside and around the property to the other side) it, made up some shyt about going to go eat one of the Tarts she used to bake (Coconut) and usher her back inside with tears in my fukkin' heart.

Damn this sucked all around, since I first heard about his dementia. I hope Bruce is good & well taken care of in his final years.

Why couldn’t this happen to Mel Gibson, or Hulk Hogan or some shyt smmfh?

Much respect, I can only imagine how tough it must be. I was only there for 3 hours and I can see the husband and the kids were trying so hard to be positive. but you can see the tiredness and heartbreak in their eyes dealing with that on the daily.

The stress behind it is something serious but I'm thankful as fukk that we, for the most part, pulled together as a family and made sure she lived out her last years within our care rather than being abused/ill treated by some caretaker in a home or some shyt cause I might have had to actually contemplate killing someone had the situation ever reached to that, based off the abuse vids I've seen posted locally over the years.
The most frustrating part about it is not so much you having to take extra care of your mentally addled loved one, but is the folk that can clearly see something is wrong and roll so insensitively towards it. Like at a party, this one cat I was cordially cool with blew up on my Grandma 'cause she kept asking/telling him the same shyt in 15 minute loops to the point where he shouted at her and ask if she was stupid. I just crossed the aisle, put down my drink, fought through the crowd of folk trying to 'calm' me down an said we need to go before I turn into the reason the police gotta file reports.
Thankfully we had a caretaker that knew her from church and had all the patience in the world to keep her safe up until she fell out for the last time and died in hospice. I honestly shudder to think of us or anyone in a situation going through that shyt who can't find that level of help or concern for a dementia/senile addled person.

Die Hard is easily my favorite action movie franchise of all time. The first 4 movies were greatness personified.

Bruce Willis’ John McClane character was what a lot of people see Keanu Reeves’ John Wick character as now in the current day era.

Human life entering this world is usually always a joyous occasion, the end of life and humans exiting this world is usually hard and never pretty.
