Its weird that hes on a major in the first place. Maybe when he first got signed as a teenager there was a buzz, but look at the type of music he makes. Hes not a commercial artist so it doesn't make sense.

Hes better off doing underground type shyt. Probably 100X easier making an indie album with Pete Rock or Alc that people like and elevates his career than getting an album like 2000 to blow up.

2000 is good but its too safe and polished to be critically acclaimed while also not being commercial enough to have any actual hits.

He was on Sony as a distributor originally (Sony RED, which is the same way Tyler and OF got on), Wayno explains around 7:15 of his video how Joey got on Columbia.
