That CNN poll has a Republican +4 sample. Even at their worst, Dem turnout wasn't that bad in any recent presidential election. I'd discount it as an outlier and say that Hillary still has a small national lead over Trump and a much bigger advantage in the electoral college--same place we were yesterday.
Who didn't see this coming???
It's classic media/politics 101. I hope no one was naive enough to believe her 10+ post convention push would last. To be fair to trump, the media controls the optics of an election and the viewing public. It's classic throw your stones and hide your hand logic. Create a story, push the story and the surrogates "battle it out" over said story.
Over the last month and half. Trump has control the news cycle daily. The only time Hillary was brought up was when it pertained to her emails. When bernie said people are tired of your damn emails he wasn't lying. But it continues to be a HEAVY CNN/FOX talking point because hillary is NOT giving the media access the way trump is and they are pissed.
Of course they would like to say the race is neck and neck and coming down to the wire when trump is still trailing in all of the battle ground states. Notice through all of his speeches in the last month he hasn't once mentioned polls. All of the free press he's getting and he's still down with hillary conceding the airwaves for a month.
That new CNN poll is just a sensationalized talking point for the network because it ONLY shows LIKELY voters, NOT registered voters. CNN and other places also had obama neck and neck with romney and fox polls had obama loosing and we saw what happen. Hillary is fundraising heavy because she has to pay the people on the ground to keep going door to door and convincing voters to come out for her. You need money to that and that's what called a ground game.
Trump and his team believe just because MSNBC, FOX & CNN lead off with every at night that it will help him win. The media doesn't decide who wins, they just want blood for ratings. Trump has to improve his ground game which at this point is too late. He has to hope for low voter turnout.
