Is there such thing as a nonpaying customer? Lol

Maybe they aren't technically "customers" if they don't pay. But Google still doesn't want to upset their users. They get most of their money from collecting your info and running targeted advertisements based on that. And if the perception of Google Music turns negative for the free users, it will also turn negative for the paying customers.

Man the service is so convenient though, I have it both on the Nexus 4 and 10, your device that holds the library doesn't even need to be on.

Snitches get stitches. I doubt Google will be dumb enough to snitch on their customers.

what would be the end game of them knowing what's illegally downloaded?

what would they have to gain by outing their users?

y'all dont figure they could possibly be keeping track on who's uploading a bunch of music they didnt pay for? Why wouldnt it be perfect & easy to know a persons name, location, and everything else if the RIAA randomly got suspicious and wanted to know who was uploading a bunch of "illegally acquired" music. Google wouldn't sell any of it's user out would it? :comeon:

:manny:

you do know it's INCREDIBLY easy for someone to see which mp3's were purchased and which were d/led from some forum thread in a zip file (granted it's not the itunes version in that zip file)

you can rip your own music after you buy the cd and i tend to download a lot of itunes versions anyway. how do you tell the difference between bought & downloaded? you mean if it has the explicit tag or if it's AAC or whatever?

Call me paranoid, but not one of my songs is going near Google Music. All this "but how would they know" shyt...guess what? I don't know, and I don't care. Putting your music in the hands of Google is just not a good idea IMO.

But y'all keep doing you. I'm running with Subsonic, and will continue to do so. Besides, even if I wanted to go that route, the song limit on GM (and iTunes Match for that matter) just wouldn't cut it for me.
50,000 don't cut it? Yeah u doing too much..
