Vjnce buried the reign purposefully.
What part did you miss of rhe interview.

We're on the same page here. Vince didn't believe in Bryan as champion and had it not been for the injury, it would have been one of the WOAT title reigns.
What did you miss from my comment?
Can we have the discussion that Vince never organically created a single star that could draw money for his company?
Hogan- Poached from AWA and was a star before his second wwf run
Macho Man- Star before signing
Austin- Put him as a midcarder with Ted Welfare stealing dollar man dibiase before Austin had to come up with his own character
Rocky- Corny blue chipper babyface gimmick. Had that man coming to the ring with a pineapple Jheri curl and sonic green hill zone level gear. Rock had to come up with his own gimmick
Cena- Was about to get cut before Steph heard him rap. More credit goes to her than Vince
Reigns- threatened to leave after getting hog slopped like it was 1996. Came up with his own gimmick
That’s unfair to say. Austin had a feud with Mick/Dude Love after he won and Mick wasn’t even in the main event scene. It wasn’t until late 98 Mick actually became a popular wrestler in that scene. We're on the same page here. But Danielson did end up having a nice run as champ twice: the yes/no reign is what elevated him and the Planet’s Champion was gold even if it didn’t last long.
This made me look up Brock selling Buffalo steaksBryan is an elite talent and he can deliver MOMENTS that make you remember why you love this business.
Bryan is NOT the guy you send on press junkets and TV shows for the majority of the year because he's too authentic, too honest, and doesn't fit in a corporate setting. He'll come out of Good Morning America with the execs in his ear like
"Daniel WTF do you mean we support veganism and sustainable products?! Muthafukka have you seen our sponsors? We slinging beef jerky and Brock's line of buffalo steaks! I'm not even going to touch that condemnation of Donald, Twitter and TikTok are already memeing our entire executive board at Mar A Lago. Get your ass back to HQ and Hell no (No Kane) you can't bike there so don't ask again."
He'd have this company in shambles, banned from Saudi inside a week.![]()

You’re arguing stuff unrelated to what you said. You think his reign woulda been weak based on a “what if” and only one short program with Kane. A feud with Kane made sense because they were a tag team that were actually fan favorites. You don’t know how the program would have went since it didn’t last long.Austin was undeniable and he was going to be fine regardless. Vince didn't need to cave to the fans to put him in the main event. Bryan was going to face Sheamus at WrestleMania and didn't even enter the Rumble. It took a lot for him to end up in the position he was in. Then he's just a placeholder until Brock comes back and squashes him at SummerSlam.
Even when Bryan came back from injury, he was in the midcard again. His reign as the Planet's Champion was the first time it felt like he had the belt as an established main eventer. Even if he went back to the midcard after that, he was a made man, so it wouldn't have mattered. His first two title reigns were sketchy in comparison.
But we know the plan was for him to get squahsed by Brock as a "reality check." Given how Vince has booked technical guys who he doesn't see as true top guys when they're world champions, it's almost guranteed he would've had a Rey Mysterio/08 Punk type reign. You’re arguing stuff unrelated to what you said. I countered your reply based on his success as the Planet’s Champion and his rise with yes/no on top of how Austin’s first defense program went.

Brock and Bryan ended up having a match at SS and it wasn’t even a squash.
We don’t know if he woulda got that Kofi treatment because it didn’t happen, just like his first double title reign didn’t even have enough time to progress.![]()
An entire four years later, in a match that wasn't even for the title. Vince booked CENA to get squashed by that dude, it was happening to Bryan and the story about that being planned for Bryan originally had leaked around that timeAh yeah, forgot about that. Him getting squashed is irrelevant if Cena got that treatment. An entire four years later, in a match that wasn't even for the title. The recyclable titleI was in the building for WMXXX when he won both belts. The energy was unreal.
I also feel his vegan heel run is one of the best runs ever.
