As much as I want to see them have a match, it'd be cool to see HBK stick to his word and stay retired. Flair's retirement match with HBK at Mania was as classy as it gets but then he went to TNA and it ended up meaning nothing. Retirements in wrestling don't mean much, especially when Terry Funk is still having retirement matches but when there's broken-down guys in their 50's out on the Indies trying to make a living, it's nice to see a guy who retired when he wanted to, still healthy and with his money too.
Breh I'm sorry but fukk this sentimental shyt. HBK's moment with Taker will never be forgotten, in many ways it was better than the Flair shyt. HBK is not Terry Funk, he's not wrestling for no indies. HBK can still deliver on the grandest stage and God bless him if he wants to get back in there. He's been away from his ring for 4 years, let the man live...

Sentiment might just go out the window like Marty Jannetty when Vince tells HBK how much he'll make for one more Mania match

if theyd build this up with aitch-b refusing to comeback, leading to regal stepping up on some "im going to teach you the lesson shawn wont."
then have shawn finally come back after regal/bryan give us some :takedat: matches. it would let shawn do minimal appearances and still build for WM.:manny:

:heh: Can't front, I'm a mark for that sentimental shyt.

Flair's farewell was probably the best thing I ever saw on a wrestling show, until he tarnished the fukk out of it over the next few years by doing what he did. Most years lately I like the Hall of Fame shyt better than Wrestlemania itself.

Wrestling is a joke to a lot of people. It's a dirty industry, so when a wrestler can actually retire with honour I think it's dope as hell.

Now I have no doubt HBK would put on another classic at Mania with D-Bry and I'll definitely watch, but there's also a bit of risk there. He'll never fukk up on the Flair level, but HBK retired about as perfectly as any superstar wrestler could hope to (classic match, classic HOF speech), and in good health. I'd hate to see him tarnish that with either a disappointing match or an injury of some kind.

But I can't lie, in a lot of ways I hope he stays retired. It would be a cool thing for the industry if just once a legendary wrestler's retirement really meant something. Dude wrapped up his career a few years ago with a classic match and a classic Hall of Fame speech. One of the cleanest and most respectable endings to a career we've seen.

I'd get if Michaels would come back and look like shyt and embarrass himself, but we all know he ain't gonna do that. He's just gonna add to his resume a MOTYC (and a MOTDC if everything "clicks") and giving help to a guy 99% of the fanbase wants to see succeed.

Michaels staying retired ain't gonna prevent other old guys coming back from retirement. I mean, I guess if his sendoff meant something to you I can get wanting him to stay away but at the end of the day I just see it as wanting to see a piff wrestling match that it's actually gonna help establish a young guy. Haven't seen that shyt in WWE in almost a decade.
