You're hugely underestimating how popular Jeff Hardy is with the WWE audience. Dude will get a top 3 reaction at worst, on any show he's on, for as long as he's with the company.
The type of fans who would mark out for Broken Matt are the type of fans who will be aware of the reason why he can't go full Final Deletion, so I think they'll be pretty forgiving of a watered-down version. The "Delete" taunt/chant is gonna run 2017 regardless. In a world where "10" is over, "Delete" is gonna be on a whole other level. All he needs to do is come out with the streak in his hair and do that taunt.
The pop when their Team Xtreme music hit was better than anything else they could have done too
