I’m originally from NC and now live in Atlanta. I know the word means something inappropriate, but had no clue (or didn’t remember) it was anti-Asian until today. I can probably count on one hand how many times I’ve ever heard that word out loud. And I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say it in real life. It had to have been a movie or something where I heard it.
