This is absolute not how the film industry works lmao. If it was, everyone would make movies and see all profit. Films are made with investors, meaning you’re getting a return on the product once it’s produced. This is not that.

my man most producers/directors dont finance their own projects, they get a studio, a bank or even crowdfundings to help fund their movies. jeez unless you are at top of the producer/director bracket like a George Lucas u aint financing ur own shyt.
All it means to be an independent business person is that you are your own boss. with willing customers who pay and GET A RETURN IN THEIR INVESTMENT . Independent dont mean u make money with no help or anybody getting involved, doing business is about profit, and each side of the business transaction must benefit for it to work. If tariqs fans dont like his work they will stop same with any other business out there.
This mentality really is detrimental to us a group. is like been financially successful outside of the norms set by the system ( excluding rappers and athletes) ur a sellout or scammer
