Yall know damn well the team would not have let him leave the stadium with it. Nobody in their right mind is thinking theyre just gonna be handed such a important ball. With hindsight its easy as hell to say what you would do.

Why couldnt they confiscate it? Do players have legal right to give away rights to the ball? The players dont own the balls
Yes they do. And the NFL nor any team has the right to take it once it’s given. They’d be liable for a crazy lawsuit and even criminal charges. Theres no law for Indian giving

let me add it’s not like they couldn’t make the rule. You can’t keep NBA balls thrown into the stands. But you can keep a baseball. And you can definitely keep a football given to you after a TD. Again. It’s why they’d ask but if that was Lebron’s record and Rondo accidentally gave the ball away for some weird reason, they’d demand it back on the spot and you couldn’t do a thing

There’s a reason they asked. Just like the police. They have to

So whats your source for players being able to give the rights to the balls away? Just because the NFL allows it most of the time doesnt mean they have the rights to.

The NFL literally allows it each and every time always WHEN GIVEN. They do force you to give back balls thrown in the stands, or even ones kicked too hard into the stands. But if a player takes one or anything else and gives it to the fan, it’s theirs. There’s no rule in place either way.

Again. If was law that they can just take it, why do all this extra shyt and add more when they came with the first janky offer? Cause Mike fukked it giving it away and dude had all the power. They wasn’t gonna ask, he say no, and then they snatch it from his hands.

All I can go off is entire NFL history. There’s no rule about this
