He actually entertained and bailed out a lot of homeowners who would have lost out if not for his investing in FMFM during the subprime morage crisis.

:ohhh:
Koch bros(hate em or love em) consistently put their money where their mouth is...
:manny:
Buffet seems like a rich guy doing and saying just enough to stay out of the line of fire.
He could unquestionably push for changes if he truly wanted to.

If he were to do that republicans would turn him into Soros

He should be doing what the Koch bros are doing if he’s serious :yeshrug:
Multi billionaires don’t get to play helpless on the sideline.

This is exactly what I'm saying. Dudes just talking shyt.

And...
There’s a mind numbing amount of hate and vitriol spat at the Koch bros weekly and they don’t let it stop them from trying to shape America the way they believe would be best.
The point being, "shaping" America isn't the correct path to fix America.

He definitely has the wealth to sway partisan politics but him muddying the waters doesn't ultimately benefit us and doesn't guarantee his agenda. The closest the Kochs and Mercers got to shaping this country was the tea party and Trump. It has benefited them financially more so than it has benefited them from a agenda perspective.

:sas1:He’s free to use it politically to influence the change he wants to see...

:sas1:He’s also free to create economic opportunities for whomever he wants...

:sas1:But something tells me he’s gonna keep up the lip service the liberal media loves while sitting on much of his cash.

Warren Buffett gave away almost $28 billion over the past 10 years

Buffett has given away more than $27.5 billion of his wealth to charitable causes.

By comparison, the figure I saw the Koch Bros. giving in political donations since 2009 was $889 million.

Both big numbers, no doubt, but...there's no real comparison here.

I think some of y'alls cynicism at times clouds your judgement. The real question is: what would philanthropy look like today if Warren Buffett weren't involved? :bpthink:

These dudes cause all of these problems with their greedy capitalist bullshyt then you want to give them credit for putting a band aid on it. Everyone is on the people's side until it's time to put up.

In your opinion, what would meaningful action from a person like Buffett look like? :bpthink:
Wouldn't it look a lot like what he's doing right now (and what he plans to do after he dies)? :ld:

The DNC is getting trash canned all over the country and y’all are giving liberal billionaires a pass due to “charatible donations”?
:mjlol:
