If you consider the Angel comics canon, they survived. The dragon became Angel's pet.

If you looks at all of Whedon's shows that he was hands on with from the beginning (which excludes Agents of SHIELD) the dude has always been successful at putting together casts that end up having great chemistry
He did it with Angel, Firefly and even Dollhouse.
So there is no reason to think he couldn't do it again with the Buffy reboot.

This is why I'm in. IMO Whedon is one of the few who pulled off that nakama shyt for live action TV. I liked the top tier seasons of Arrow and Flash but they struggle with that shyt.

Hopefully Angel gets a reboot as well. I just hope they go hard like the OG show did and not CW's teeny bopper style.

I'm totally against this reboot & I hope it never gets off the ground. But I'm familiar with the BW who is going to be the showrunner Monica Owusu-Breen & think this was an excellent choice.
