Think about everything we need. It's depressing brehs.
Most likely they are going to cut Mario because he doesn't fit Rex scheme, so we are going to need another pass rusher, maybe two
We need at least two more LBs. Another case of players that played great last year but played like shyt under Rex. Brown and Bradham were really good last year in that 4-3 wide 9, but they don't fit Rex scheme.
Aaron Williams might not ever play again so we need at least 1 more safety probably two.

On offense we need an RT badly. Millar might become a good guard eventually, but he has had an below average rookie year. Glenn and Incognito are free agents, so our oline is a mess

We need another WR to help Watkins and Tyrod out in the worse way. We also need another QB because EJ need to get the hell out of here :camby: We have way too many holes to fill in one offseason. I hate to be so negative but hiring Rex might of set us back another 4 to 5 years:shaq2:

As a jets fan I can easily see at least 10 wins on that schedule. But as breh said above teams change like the wind year to year so its hard to say this early. 1 great draft can change a teams fortunes.

I would agree if we were running an aggressive defense like the wide 9 system we ran under Schwartz instead of this soft, gap control scheme Rex is running. Combined with his horrible use of clock management and in-game adjustment/situational awareness, I just don't see the Bills having a successful season. I think the offense will be better with Tyrod getting more experience, Watkins should be a All-Pro candidate if Greg Roman actually makes him a focus of the offense, and McCoy/Williams/Gillislee will a good running tandem.

Bills need to fix a lot of things, need LBs, Safeties, RT, WR, DE once Mario Williams is cut. I just think the Bills will be re-building once again and that the next head coach after Rex will be the next possible opportunity for this franchise to return to the playoffs.

Romans a bad mix with rex IMO.

Rexs problem is how weak his staff is. When he first got here with the jets he had a good supporting staff, they all went on to different jobs and instead of looking outside he promoted guys from within who were basically yes men, which results in nobody pushing back on rex and his worst tendencies.

An OC who likes to pass would be a better fit since he will try to utilize watkins and push back on rexs run all game philosophy.

Yea I agree with that, Roman is great at designing run plays, but isn't at passing plays. They might have to do what Dallas did a few years ago and delegate a running and passing coordinator where Roman is the running one and hire a passing one. Dennis Thurman imo has to be fired, he's one of those yes man types you described. I think Rex needs to hire a DC that has a similar approach to defense to Rex, but has a aggressive style that fits our team which emphasizes the DL. My issue is Rex is a loyal guy and I don't think he has in him to admit his staff isn't good or that the front office will tell him that changes need to be made.

I agree but it's not just his staff. Rex lacks in several areas when it comes to being an head coach. He has the worse clock management skills I have ever seen from an head coach. I'm being being serious when I say that. He's ultra conservative, and has bad management skills in general. This team has no discipline and that comes from Rex. We get an incredible amount of penalties every game. Our players seem to be confused about what their assignments are almost every play. We burn at least two to three TOs every game because of this. Rex has been living of off his first two seasons with the Jets for the last 5 years.

Oh agreed completely. Those are the exact same problems he had with the jets.

He has no feel for clock management and ALWAYS wastes his 2nd half timeouts.

And player confusion is so odd. It would happen at least twice a game with the jets where it would be a blown assignment and/or players standing around because they dont know what the call is.

Browns are keeping Pettine, I really wished Rex had just let Schwartz ran his system and had a hands-off approach to the defense and focused on being a head coach. Unfortunately, Rex's ego is too big for that.
We were #4 in defense under Schwartz:mjcry:
