Let him get his shyt off in the reg season but have someone who can be the guy when it’s playoff time .
A guy like Jimmy and the Heat organization would’ve worked (not taking into account the personality shyt )
Jimmy would be more than happy to be in cruise control during the reg season and let Kyrie get his shyt off but we know in the playoffs he’s more than capable enough to take shyt over and lead

That's why I give him the freedom. Give him full support to get his trust and confidence. Let him make mistakes during the season but he does need to learn from those mistakes. Just because im givng him freedom doesnt mean their isnt accountability attached to that freedom. A maverick talent like Kyrie needs to be allowed to express themselves no point into trying to be controlling and put constraints on them to trying to fit into your system you tailor your system to maximise their skills.
Kyrie takes over and wins games regularly in the 4th qtr that's all the leadership teammates need to follow him. If you have the right sort of characters on your roster everyone can be a leader. Someone to give the tough love someone else to be sympathatic someone to be a brother uncle when need. But it all needs to be everyone pulling in the same direction.

But is it possible for him to be the driving clear cut #1 option to win a title?
Of course not.
Kyrie is one of the most overrated players of all time in terms of impact relative to how people see him. He may have the most aesthetically pleasing game of all time and he gets the heavy boost from both Bron detractors and the Kobe stans, but you’d be a fool to think you’re building a legitimate contender around him.
All of this sounds cool, but he’s 33 and not 23. He is who he is at this point. He’s not gonna develop into a better leader.
