Building my first gaming pc

I recently decided on building my first gaming computer. I have decided on going with an i5-4670k processor but im having trouble picking out a motherboard. I don't really know what i'm looking for or what I need. Could anyone offer me any suggestions or starting places/key things I should be looking for?

How much are you willing to spend??
I didnt really know how much it would all cost, i've already put the pieces together and it all came out to be around 1500$. I ended up going with a Msi z87-g45 motherboard though
