Just because the average person can’t identify something because it doesn’t have the brand name plastered doesn’t mean shìt doesn’t cost .

He’s saying that you can wear nice things without advertising that it’s nice. There are brands out there, many of them obscure and only worn by those who know where to look for them, whose pieces are superbly constructed while looking basic and unassuming.

Someone wearing these articles of clothing wouldn’t immediately catch one’s eye, but after closer attention is paid to the fit, it would become apparent that what’s being worn isn’t something you’d find in the mall (J Crew is the only exception, but they’ve fallen off, imo).
