Even here in the south $15 an hour is mediocre if you are single, the fact that people in New York and California raving about that is downright embarrassing. I'm not trying to act like The Coli 6-Figure gang because I barely break $15 an hour myself (although Uncle Sam doesn't know about a good fraction of that).

The Private Sector has held off on minimum wage increases for so long that people now think a $10-$15 an hour is impressive. No, $10-$15 an hour was cool for a 20-year old college student in 2005 when a one-bedroom was $500 in a decent neighborhood. Now in 2016 you have 3-4 adults in "middle-class" neighborhoods with more cars that can fit in the driveway because if someone gets laid off or their hours cut (because those "newly created" service jobs aren't really full-time positions) everything falls apart as far as the bills go.

Those jobs won't even exist in 10 years. Get ready for the permanent poor-working class.

They gotta eat too and to be real a lot of these corporate jobs are no more important than flipping burgers. I've seen many in my time making 70k+ and dont do nothing but sit at a computer playing spades for 8 hrs

People that believe working in the office is more prestigious are morons. I've seen the same thing... Bum ass unqualified old ass people hogging up the job lanes with no skills getting paid doesn't mean they deserve it more than a burger flipper

I used to work in finances.

Now work in the steel industry. Most people here make more than the people I worked with in the office and are actually paid for their overtime as opposed to being asked to work from home on their own time... But most people would never consider this a successful occupation

i havent thought about this too much, so maybe yall can offer some insight. so no matter what job you get, from being a greeter, to a cashier, youre going to make 30k a year ?

why havent they just set up self checkouts already ? what this argument says is that a fukkin kiosk is cheaper than a 15 an hour worker, but not a ten? it shouldnt matter what the worker is even making
