This whole thing seems suspect. So this cop was smart enough to keep it hidden for 20 years and then all of a sudden just bragged about it to another cop. If he really wanted to save it to frame, he would have gotten the DR while he was still working for the LAPD. Better yet, he could probably find the DR somewhere online if he looked hard enough. Lastly, he was a retired cop so I'm sure he would always have other cops visit his home from time to time. I'm sure it would be difficult to explain a rusted knife mounted over his fireplace. I refuse to believe someone could be this stupid.
