I agree—while the decline’s been slow since the peak years of 2015/2016, 2019 was really the last time TheColi felt like TheColi. Since 2020, the energy’s just been off. Threads started reading more like political group therapy or Facebook arguments than the barbershop banter that made this place what it was. The fun got drained out, and now it feels like a lot of folks are just here to take themselves way too seriously. And I’ll never understand how some banned posters just waltz back in—once you catch the ban-hammer, that should be it. I think the moment it really clicked for me was earlier this year when I suggested we consolidate the nonstop Trump discourse into a single mega-thread, and I got jumped like I’d said something unforgivable. That’s when I realized the old Coli was gone. I still like it here, but it’s been on a steady decline—and honestly, I don’t know if it can recover.
