I thought it would be because grown ups are now doing the jobs that were intended for teenagers.

those jobs weren't intended for teens, they just pay really low wages and that fit a teen's situation better than an adult because a teen normally doesn't have bills or dependents.

if the jobs were intended for teens, then the hours would reflect so. yet, plenty of minimum wage paying businesses are open 24/7, during school hours etc. if the jobs were meant for teens, then the business hours would be like maybe 4-6 hours in the afternoon only & longer hours on weekends.

Also a lower wage business would much rather hire the desperate 55-62 year old too young to collect retirement benefits than a teenager that will quit in months time and/or have restricted hours

They're big mad that kids are trying to get into college so they don't work these dead end jobs their entire lives. :Cookoutcam2:
nikka the article obviously just said summer jobs:what:

Most of these kids will be right back at these dead end retail or service jobs when they graduate with a degree in music or art.:pachaha:

For every1 person I know who got a decent job outta college I can name 4 working call center, retail or some other BS that they ain’t go to school for

The College or bust narrative that a lot of high schools push is why so many people taking L’s right now. Not everyone can do STEM or healthcare. Not everyone can or should go to college in general :yeshrug:

Yup, you're right. Most people who graduate college end up working summer jobs their entire life. :duck:
