I’m not taking anything to serious until I see what we get for Ben but Morey is tanked this off-season.Funny thing it's technically still the offseason to me, nothing these nikkas do in the regular season is valid anymore
Here's how I'd handle Ben I think
This is gonna end up in arbitration to see how much Ben will get paid. Whatever money he gets, tell him great, go home and don't come back
If we find a deal for you by the deadline then cool, but we probably won't, so you hold Ben into the offseason
You do this because you can use Ben's salary in a Sign-and-Trade should a star want to leave where they're at in FA. LaVine, Beal, Harden will all hit the market, Dame may ask out after another playoff L, maybe someone demands their roster make some moves to get better so they offer good pieces for Ben, whatever, but he basically can act as a max contract slot this summer to a lot of teams. If LaVine leaves Chicago, Ben would be a great replacement for them to have Ball/DeRozan/PatWill/Simmons/Vucevic for example, Ben would fit great with KD and Kyrie, and Washington could make him their centerpiece - better than losing Beal for nothing.
Let's say Beal is the guy we land, you'd have something like
Beal/Thybulle/Korkmaz/Harris/Embiid
Maxey/Curry/Green/Niang/Drummond
Shake/Joe/Reed/Bassey
I threw Thybulle in the starting lineup for defense. You could mix-and-match a lot and order it however you want, but you get the point. I assume Danny Green is washed by then. You can win a title off that or subbing Beal for any of the other guys like LaVine or Harden or Dame, etc.
