Speaking of...

I think it's worth it to see in the theatres. I didn't know I'd be that happy to see Wesley (last time I saw him was in that Ghostwalker film, which had excellent cinematography and costume design, but the story was muddled). But I was. IRS, let Wesley be great. If you get past the wrinkles, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford and Kelsey Grammar actually have acting skills and put effort into their roles (shocker with Ford). Didn't even notice the absence of Bruce Willis. Kellen Lutz also was a nice surprise. The only things I didn't like were Banderas' entrance (reminded me too much of how black people are treated in most movies, with the stereotypical music, and then the obvious Frito Bandito allusion) that was kind of racist, and whatever awkwardness was going on with Arnold and Jet Li. Needed more Jet Li anyway. Banderas kinda made up for it as the show progressed, which started with a quiet moment with Sly in the woods and went forward.

Mel Gibson owned, ,though. Final fight wasn't Sly versus Van Damme, but Mel put that work in the rest of the movie. Hollywood needs to forgive him, and let him come back to their game.

Bonus: there's a bit of casting, for those who haven't kept up with the film, but have kept up with 30 year old action movies, which was a nice callback to the 80s Bmovies of yore. At least for me and my buddies.

Everyone else hates the movie, though :yeshrug: mostly because of how much time was spent with each team, so your mileage may vary. I thought it made a poignant point about time marching on. It's going to be especially instructive to compare this movie and it's treatment of age and worth, versus any treatment of the same in the eventual Expendabelles spin-off franchise.
.

End thread jack.
