I don't fukk with em anymore. I remember his 4th album being so shytty, and then that racist tape hitting i've never listened to a full em album after that. but there's no denying the greatness that was his first two albums. :to:

yeah man. my earliest recollection of Eminem was after he got unsigned hype and then seeing a real crude looking cd in fat beats, which i'm now realizing was 100% the slim shady ep, and passing on the purchase. like i was THIS close to blind copping. it wasn't infinite. it was the EP. we then caught the just the two of us wax and then i knew he was gonna out stripe Canibus as the next big thing.

flawless classic record and probably the best record from 97-98.
ssep, held me down the most in that time period.
a really fukked up dark time for rap, as far as releases went.

I have a love/hate/indifferent thang going with Em. I duly acknowledge his genius, but his stuff beyond that early, underground stuff failed me beat wise. BUT. what i found TRULY inspiring about the mushroom song was that it was a play off one of my favorite New Edition songs melody wise, 'a little bit of love'. That solidified him to me as an in the know CAC.

em is one of those few artists you remember where you were the first time you heard him...

btnhboard when it was called something else, them kids were flippin out bout some white rapper kid and that 'infinite' album :rudy:

then i listened to the real audio joints they linked up :krs:

bout 6 months after that i saw he signed with dre then i knew this kid gonna be the next big thing.

Damn time sure as fukk flies...

In the Silver Lining
that is more than likely true.

if you ever heard slim shady the ep.
that was one of the best releases in rap history.
plus, it is easily rap's best independant ep of all time as well.

when i heard slim shady the ep,..
i posted my first full record review and also said how eminem was going to be the artist that we know him as today.

people said i was buggin, and i said if you don't understand the level of talent you hear, you really don't know top tier emcee'n.

slim shady ep = the truth

I just remember my little brother had bought the album and somehow my pops got a hold of it ...and either heard the album or more than likely saw the track listing.... but somehow the whole album ended up in the fireplace, burnt to smithereens... :damn:

I was a teenager, so I had plenty of that typical "nasty language" rap in my collection.....but he never bothered my stuff...

I just looked at my brother like :skip: .............. :patrice:

Great album :yeshrug:
