Its not irrational necessarily... Several people were humiliated when the 6ers made them look foolish by being as good as they were last year after several seasons of the process...
So now that the narrative of "the sixers are a joke... Embiid is always hurt" is dead the next thing they are trying to cling on to is to say "well simmons isn't really that good anyways and the sixers are overrated"
Its just your typical modern sports tactic of doubling down on dumb when proven wrong so in that sense its an understandable coping mechanism to deal with their incompetence
Winslow is a better and smarter defender despite being smaller. Ben’s more versatile because his length but Winslow tends to do much better against explosive guards plus he’s a better help defender too.
And shooting is a big deal.
But Winslow has been averting 16/6/6 since he’s become the de-facto PG and any one who has watched Winslow will tell you that his impact is always bigger than stats.
Obviously, he’s not more talented than Simmons but Winslow is way better than most of y’all think but lots of y’all don’t watch Heat games.

Winslow must be one of the best defenders in the L cuz Ben is an elite defender
Winslow is an elite defender too.
Ben is great but he struggles getting through consistent screens, he can struggle with quicker guards that stay low, and he can be a bit of a ball-hawk.
Let Winslow play with Embiid behind him and Butler on the wings.
