Until I read the legal terms that are shipped with the X1, I am going to take all of this as generic; unless they give me better examples then a card and/or fitness game.

They just did a 180 on the DRM, who's to say they don't quietly reverse these policies or find loopholes in their own verbage?

Yep, and it's not just a camera; anything that collects data. That's why I'm starting to really move away from all the big American companies. I'm going to drop my 500gb dropbox account for Jottacloud.

Whether it's ad targets or violation of the fourth amendment; shyt's just fukked up right now.

I'm a developer and for years I had heard from different people in the field that the FBI had access to facebook's facial recognition software (regardless of user privacy settings) and would cross reference security cameras with the fb database to find people (i'm pretty sure they even do it in real time if you are being captured by a government owned camera).

They've given you their policy that says they won't transfer/store your data without permission.

If you say "well they can just change it" then that means any company with any type of connected camera can do the same. So what's the problem here?

Do you have a windows based pc/laptop? Does it have a webcam? Do have a modern smartphone? Do you ever leave the house? Have cam on stoplights? Ever go into a store with video surveillance? Ever use the atm? All these have cams. If the government really wanted watch you they can. Get over the bullshyt.
