Jonas shoots a better % from the floor and the line, is one of the best points per post up guys in the NBA, and blocks about a shot more per game. Kanter was arguably the worst defensive player in the league to get the kind of minutes he got. It's really not close but I know you hate Jonas and probly don't realize how awful Kanter actually is.

You can dislike the Jonas contract, that's fair but no need to hype up Kanter to try and trash Jonas.

Hopefully getting in shape helps with his back and keeps him healthy. Having an elite defensive PG to back him up should help too.

So he wasn't injured after the ASG? He was just out of shape? SMH. Ownership probably hammered him to do so after committing so much money. He's always been chubby, and now at 29 decided to shed some pounds. Interesting...

I think it was a combination, his back was hurt but being out of shape probably stopped him from getting healthy and back to where he was.

Like usually when a player in any sports plays through injury and struggles and its evident we hear about it in the offseason. But nothing from the Raptors or Lowry to suggest it was a major injury that he played through. It was just him being a fatass. SMH.

Canada announced the team they're taking to the Tuto Marchand cup (warm up tourney before the FIBA Americas)

Still one more cut to be made and I read its between Hanlan, Ejim and Doornekamp, with Doornekamp being the most likely cut.

Murray was "cut" because UK wouldn't let him go for the tourney. Bhullar and Carl English were also cut.

Still not our full squad, (missing Ennis, Tristan, Murray , Lyles and potentially some NCAA and euro guys) but definitely the most talented team Canada has ever fielded and a prohibitive favourite for a weaker than usual FIBA Americas.

Canada starts the warm up tourney on Sunday and has their first FIBA game on September 1st. TSN is supposedly airing all of the Fiba games.

What are you reading from my post ? Im not a fan of either really,neither one is a good defender.You want to argue kanter is a terrible big man,thats cool but we have to acknowledge the advanced stats that matched what we saw last year and that is JV is alos a poor defending big and it played a key role in his limited mins down the stretch in games...

JV can shoot a better pct but hes not a better offensive player than Kanter,not even close...Hes inconsistent in the post and with his shot...

I dont dislike the contract,its about what the market is for a 12/8 big man...I dont fool myself like ALOT of raptor fans do about what he is and what he'll become...His ceiling isnt much bigger than it is right now,hes not an all star,hes not a 1 or 2 option...

Hes a serviceable 7 footer nothing more...

This team is a first round exit at best. Hope Scola gets injured and AB gets burn. Just for the record books won't have him being the first and worst number one pick from Canada.

It's worth taking a shot on Bennett especially the way he has played this summer, he's literally the 427 to Gardiner away from the arena. If this doesn't motivate him, nothing will.
