The scene is unfortunately filled with a history of violence, I don't doubt Gates is real just off the fact that he's made it this far for this long in a scene where rappers are routinely getting shot, killed, or locked up.

I can't say I know much about Gates or am even a big fan. But what I can say is that the dude seems to be very intelligent and honest. Both of which I highly respect. And he seems to be trying to make something better of his life.
What I do find funny though is that dudes are trying to clown this dude for sounding like "he's trying to hard"?
How in the hell can a dude try too hard when he's been to jail for two felonies and is still facing possible jail time?
Yea, I can get clowning someone who sells an image but has never lived it. But clowning a dude whose done it and came out on the other side? Especially when n#ggas sell out arenas listening to dudes who talk about this and that but have never really done it?
