I'm looking to make a move and invest, is Detroit a good place to start? What's the going price for properties in the downtown areas? :jbhmm:

It's too late for Downtown, its been bought up already. And the adjoining areas (Corktown, Midtown/Cass Corridor, Brush Park, West Village etc) are all being bought up too. If you didn't get in 4 years ago, you can't now anywhere south of I-94 and East of i-96.

Bruh, houses for 3k?!?!

Where do I sign up

Yeah, you can get them...but not after you pay 45k in back taxes on the property, put in another 50k to get it to liveable conditions, perhaps another 50k to make in sweet. And you'd still be in an area where the services are ass and you'd be the only house on the block worth more than 40k.

It can't be a bunch of isloated people doing it, it has to be large communities of people coming into areas and revitalizing. Corktown was ass for the decade or so after the Tigers moved off Michigan & Trumbull to Comerica. It took those hippies to come in I hate to say. :manny:
