Well, it all depends on what you drive and what size tires you need. I know I had caught a deal on some tires for my wife's car. She had some 19 inch factory rims and I ended up getting her a brand new set of tires for $540 out the door. But because we didn't keep a good alignment schedule they were worn out in a year. The best thing to do is keep your tires rotated, keep your car aligned properly, and keep the right air pressure in there to make sure you get the most life out of those tires.

How do you know if the tires will be aligned properly or not?

I bought michelin's back in october and they were a little over $800 from costco. I got fat tires, so they are expensive. This is my 2nd time replacing them in the 5 1/2 years I have had the car too.

I'm driving under 10K miles per year cuz I don't have to commute for work anymore, so its mostly driving on weekends. but my last tires were rated for like 45,000 miles and I drove about that # of miles before having to replace them. they were getting bald and not gripping like they should have been.

got the car in 2008, and got the first set of tires in summer 2010. then I got the 2nd set of tires in fall 2013.

tires are one of those things in life you probably shouldn't skimp on.

just bought some $700 winter tires that probably saved my life. :blessed:

I agree. spending the extra bread is worth it in the long run. especially if you live somewhere where it snows a lot. that extra grip can save your life.

pops told me years ago now to cheap out on tires and brakes when it comes to ur whip.
