^Physician, straight out of school. $13k/month(126k/year)

https://chicago.taleo.net/careersection/100/jobdetail.ftl

^Psychiatrist, doesn't even have to be done with residency at the time of application. $96/hour. That's $200k if they work a regular week. Work half days and still clear 100 grand.

People are out here getting fukking PAID. They slave away in school for a good reason. :manny:

Particular profession is not all that it is cracked up to be. from a financial stand point being a physician isn't worth it. However, if you love what you do, more power to you.

We are taught to spend money not save money in America. The avg 26 year old that has worked since 16 could easily saved up 30-40K. When I was 16 I spent all my money on a used bmw Jordan's girls and just plain stupid stuff.

Yeah physcians are typically marred in debt, not to mention the malpractice insurance. Its not worth it. Its easier and less study to be a nurse practioner and still make close to 100k, can still write prescriptions and not deal with the AMA politics. Some hospitals will pay off your loans. Debt ratio isn't worth it nor the all the post graduate study and residency for physicians.

Engineering is the most lucrative and sought after. Especially if you contract with DOD overseas and get a housing allowance and other incentives on top of salary. Not to mention there are less blacks in the field so there is a competitive edge. Need more in STEM disciplines.

I swear nikkas will find a way to shyt on anything. :mjlol:

"B-but, they not really making money like that!":sadcam:

*shows them the money*:mjpls:

"Ok, b-b-but they're in debt, it's still not worth it.":sadcam:

It costs ~$250,000(max) and takes ~10 years to become a doctor. Meaning you'll be ~28 before you see your checks.

You land that job making 120k+ and take 2-3 years to live broke and pay back your loans and now you're making 120k+ and you just cracked 30 years old.

You'll be making 120k+ for the next 20 or so years.

And you don't have to be overseas worrying about getting your head blown off or being a casualty because of a car bomb.

Stop speaking on theory. Half that will go to uncle sam. Its not cool to be in your 30s/40s and in debt. Getting blown up overseas? This is not call of duty. Most jobs involve I.T. (maintaining servers routed through Euro countries, building systems, maintaing software) on or near military installations and embassies. When I worked overseas, made 80K+(on the low end), housing allowance and cost of living allowance(way before the dollar euro ratio was at a low, like now so that was a additonal 13k)
Also, all expense paid business trips per diem meals. No rent, no insurance costs, no utilities so I stacked my 401k. IRS tax laws allows expats to deduct the first 90k of income tax free as long as you are not in the States for more than one month per calendar year. Was able to help out fam and invest a lil. Low income to debt ratio and my FICO remained low to mid 700s because I didnt need to finance anything. Dudes better look on usajobs.gov, lockhead martin, general dynamics, booz allens and northrup grummans website. Corps of engineers or anything navy contract is good since have the most funding. If you are smart and have business acumen, you can self contract.

My friends who are nurse practitioners do better than my friends with PhDs unless they go into admin jobs like medical research, reviewing studies and stuff. Like I said, more blacks are needed in engineering.
