I'm not one of them.
If I recall correctly, the last census only had the option of White (of hispanic descent) or Native American.
I don't consider myself either of those, but I'd choose the native label over pretending to be white.

Why would people let racists dictate what they claim? If Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Cameron Diaz or Andy Garcia have to claim on a census, it should be White Hispanic. Who cares if German mongrel Billy Bob in Alabama disagrees, it's still the best choice when picking from the categories available. Hispanic is not a race. You can be mostly African and Hispanic, mostly European and Hispanic, mostly "Native," and hispanic ect.

I have a strong feeling there is going to be a civil war between white latins and mixed or black latins in this country as latins grow. I heard instances of Mexicans beefing with other latins and saying they weren't real Latins because they had black in them. Its wrong but, to me that shows an issue that is going to get serious the more mixed/black Latins come into the country and interact with mexicans or white Latins. I wouldn't worry about Latins claiming white without any arguments against it or complaining of discrimination from mixed/black Latins.

When are we as humans gonna stop giving a damn what other people claim themselves as. Whether it's race, ethnicity, sexual preference, etc. Instead of saying can you believe so and so claims themselves as this race, let's worry about our own lives and getting those people to claim themselves as our friend.
