Depends on the time of the year.

My birthday is January, so I was 18 for almost the whole spring semester. Kids with September/October birthdays are 18 for almost the whole year. Only the June/July/August kids graduate at 17.

You know how normal this was? I'm a child of the 80s, 1/2 the girls in my high school were messing with grown men. So, yes it was a different time. My dad was 22ish and my mom was 16 when they started dating but I'm from the south (they're still married btw)
