South Shore is the new Lakeview, hella LAS grads, medical students, and hipsters live out there now, 20 years from now there won't be a single black neigbhorhood next to the lake

Trust me I travelled a lot for my job. I would never live in the deep south. I don't even live in the North. I think it's a tie between Northern whites and Southern. A lot black people still have that slave mentality in the South also.

I don't know what a slave mentality is, so you will have to break that down for me. Fwiw, Tennessee is not the Deep South. It is the mid-south just like North Carolina.

Secondly, you may not know this; but the North used to have slavery too. It ended before slavery ended in the South, but the North did have slavery too. On top of that Black people in the West are mostly originally from the South from States like Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi. So I don't get how Black people in other parts of the USA have these negative opinions of Black people in the South.

Your opinion is your opinion and you are entitled to it. Fwiw, when I was younger; I lived in California for 3 years. Maybe it is just me, but I noticed more racism in California and in Chicago than I ever noticed any place that I have been in the South. I don't know how people just ignore all of those police beatings; unjustified police shootings; racial profiling; wrongful convictions; plungers shoved up asses; choking out a man for selling single cigarettes; prosecutors not charging the cops in police misconduct cases involving black victims; on and on and on. Most of that shyt happened in the North and in the West with your liberal elected officials. But the South is considered more racist. FOH.

Man, I don't fukking understand how you don't step in. That's someone's daughter man. And i'm not on some hero tip, not some keyboard warrior, but I physically can't just stand there while some shyt like that is happening. I've been in this situation twice, once with a Cuban couple, and once with a white-latina couple, both times I stepped in. You are not a man if you are watching a woman/child get attacked without action, plain and simple. Fortunately both times I came out unscathed, but my first thought was action, not observance. We as men gotta step up to protect our own, that's just terrible

If I Have to protect women will they go back into the kitchens as well?

Knife is one of the most dangerous close quarters weapons. Even against a gun up close. Someone that knew brazillian jiujitsu could have only lessened the number of stabs she received while getting stabbed himself

There was a documentary that they used to show on Sundance and IFC that was exactly about '"The bystander effect". One segment of the documentary covered the Stanford prison experiment.. They show the real ppl going through that sh-t. Then they did some public experiments where they had a fake homeless person lay dead in the middle of a busy public sidewalk... they covered some otherr sh-t like the Kitty Genovese sh-t where she was screaming and a bunch of witnesses onlookers ignored her as she was stabbed repeatedly...

I would have just watched her get stabbed to death then informed then police.

If I had my knife on me though I would have used brazillian bladejitsu which combines grappling and knife work and ended the conflict.

As a swordsman, I'm telling you right now... you are gonna get yourself stabbed.
Dirks, knives and butterflies are more difficult to disarm than long blades because they require less telegraphing.

Even a flailing person with no edged training is likely to stab a trained person attempting a grapple because even erratic movement is highly effective with an edged weapon against an unarmed opponent or any opponent attempting to close distance. And unlike hand to hand which requires positioning to be effective, a blade is just as dangerous from an opponent you have knocked down, mounted, or otherwise disoriented.

The other thing is, hand to hand fighters always go for the wrists cause its effective in martial arts. But If you hold a pencil in your right hand and grab your right wrist with your left hand you will immediately see how vulnerable you are to that pencil despite having wrist control.

I don't think those ppl could have saved her unless they were already in the mindstate of looking for trouble.
From reading the article he only stabbed her once, then when she dropped he slit her throat.

So if you were not all in their business you would not even take note til she falls (so she has already been stabbed at that point)... then its gonna take you a moment to determine why she fell, determine she is in trouble, then realize she is in mortal trouble.

If he followed up immediately after she went down then he slit her throat while ppl were still processing what was going on.
Nothing they could do to save her unless they were easedropping on the convo and waiting for any reason to interveine before things even went south.
