Athens — A 25-year-old mother is in the Henderson County Jail after telling authorities that she had killed her four year old daughter, Monday morning.
Bond has not been set on Stacie Marie Parsons, who walked into the Athens Police Department at 8:46 a.m, to report the homicide. She’s was charged with capital murder of a person less than 10 years old.
APD units responded to 413 Martin Luther King in Athens and found the girl dead from trauma to the head and chest.
When police learned that the crime took place on County Road 1500, west of Athens, the case was forwarded to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
HCSO Investigators responded to the residence in Athens and also the crime scene on CR 1500.
Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Randy Daniel was called to the scene. He ordered the body sent to Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for an autopsy.
The Athens Police Department is working in conjunction with the HCSO in the case . The HCSO is also assisted by the District Attorney’s Office. -
