I know this, but in some states (and in minority communities), they tell women they have to name a father in order to get any help at all. It's plenty of forums about child custody and child support that have discussed this issue at length.

The narratives about blk women and single motherhood are horrendous.
I remember breaking this dude down on twitter.
He was out there ranting about how there were so many blk female single moms based on the number of OOW babies in our community.
When I broke down the stats and showed that only about a 5th of us are single mothers and many of those are divorced single mothers.
Meanwhile 70% of children are born to the same fraction of blk chicks that multiple men or the same men keep impregnating, dude had a case of the shut mouth quick.
