I agree with your posts 9 times out of 10. But you are firmly misguided here.

Some demographics are defining black men’s masculinity by how closely they resemble gangster rappers. Ja Morant is a prominent example of someone who fell victim to it. Hell, you can argue that some demographics will outright reject a black man for not being hood at all


On the other hand, non-blacks by and large do not have to meet the standard of acting like rock musicians or video game characters. Therefore, they don’t do it. It’s quite frankly, that simple

Ehh these are pretty weak excuses:

• Heavy Metal: There is only a small % of white folk who listen to heavy metal. Now compare this to hip-hop, where virtually everyone in our community listens to it, or at least is participating in it culturally.
• EDM: Who says this hasn't had an effect on their community? Drugs amongst young white adults has sky rocketed. There was even that WSJ article that said that alcohol sales are down significantly at concerts, largely due to kids turning to MDMA/Shrooms/Edibles.
• Video Games: C'mon breh- there is a huge difference between a music genre and a video game. People do not go out the house and try to emulate Cyberpunk or Red Dead Characters (outside of conventions). However, kids and adults will dress/talk/Carry themselves like their favorite rapper, all in the name of keeping up with the 'Culture'.

We already have enough headwinds that we have to overcome, there is no reason that we should make excuses for something that has been largely a net-negative for our community.
