interesting :jbhmm:
expound

for an opening, I am gonna eliminate the very obvious the guy is familiar with the area thing.

as far as basketball, he has created successful dribble drive pedigree superstar players as a science consistently as a class when given the ability to get outside the box talent that potentially have/had generational talent.
or the ability to be diverse and malleable to coach up talent and give that talent the ability to apply that to being a ramped up professional if drafted out of the lottery. To difficult coaching or landscape areas as well.
crean fits into the done as much as he can do college coach that is just there for the choosing for an organization that claims they know basketball in the current and now.

now if you add in the obvious.
crean has been successful in the area plus a higher resource base in the professional realm could spell out to immediate success.
or if needed in a ramp up based capacity as well.

Both I suppose, but I really don't trust his ability to lead an NBA team. It's basketball, and a big part of a coaches responsibility (to me atleast) is to not fukk things up. The best coaches know how to let the players do what they do best and work around their strengths. I'm not sure I can see Crean doing that. The last thing we need is a coach that will be like Kidd and try to force his systems on the team.
