It is a serious issue that needs to be addressed I agree. Yea you’re right I don’t see East Africans bleaching their skin or getting perms as much. I wonder why west Africa truly has this problem. I don’t want to sound judgmental but women often do things for attention whether it’s male or female. Unfortunately lighter skin gets more attention and that needs to be addressed. There are so many beautiful darker complexed women here and I’m sure many other countries/ continents

I think there needs to be an emphasis in media of women of darker shades. In my opinion media is the biggest influential tool in my lifetime. Nollywood is booming right now, if they catered to all shades that can maybe help.
