A base c8 is not a supercar. I ran one down in my wife's mustang... easily.
Now, if you're talking e-ray, z06, or zr1, sure, you got that argument. But a regular C8 is everyday traffic.
I think he thought your wife's Mustang was cute and let you have a moment. Unless you got one of those Hennesey joints or a bigger supercharger under the hood there's no mustang hanging with a C8. Their competition is Lamborghini, Ferrari, McClaren and shyt like that.

Buddy was def trying. Of course I don't have video evidence, but there are plenty of videos online of stock 10 speed mustang gt's beating c8s... and the other way around too.

The Tesla model can't go around a track, so no. Supercars are fast, agile, luxurious, and sleek.
You can take a C8 to the track and keep up with Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc.

My Pops is on his 2nd one and he's 70. He had a Stingray about 3 years ago and recently traded it for a Z06. I know on my best day my Scat Pack Challenger can't keep up with it and it's not stock. I've driven it and it feels like it punched you in the chest from a launch.

Bullshyt. Base Corvette does 0-60 around 2.9/3.1 seconds which is definitely supercar status.
